Using ArtRage (iPad) for Print Production Workflow

ArtRage on the iPad can create files that are 2048 px x 2048 px but when you convert that from 72 dpi into 300 dpi for print it isn't very large at all. However, there is a rather neat solution.

When you create a new painting turn on the "Record Script" slider.

Now when you press the share button in your gallery you get the option to Export Recorder Script to Email or iTunes.

You'll then need to purchase ArtRage Studio or ArtRage Studio Pro from the company's website for upwards of twenty pounds sterling, after which this file can be "played" at "any resolution". Meaning you can reproduce it on your Mac or Windows PC at a much larger size, restricted only by the power of your machine.

Not only can you then work on the file in ArtRage, but you can also export to Photoshop (PSD) among other file formats to prepare for print.

Note: you must turn on the "Record Script" option when you create a new painting - you can't do it later.
